Is this normal?

Is this normal?

During a hearing at the French Senate on 7 November, Dr Vincent Bonaldi delivered a passionate and implacable indictment of the management of the COVID crisis. A victim, like so many others, of the odious vaccination blackmail, he expresses, with eloquence and emotion, the injustice and distress experienced by healthcare workers.
BAM has transcribed his speech so that everyone can reflect on and answer this question: is this normal?

Good evening, Senators,

Thank you for allowing me to speak here in this high place of our democracy. A piece of medical information to introduce my role in tonight’s debate. There are more than 10 to the power of 31 viruses on earth. We are going to have to do a lot of bodybuilding to get deltoids broad enough to receive all the jabs some people are preparing for us. We are gathered here tonight, on the one hand, to avoid that at all costs and, on the other hand, and above all, to talk about health, our health.

The WHO definition of health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. It was proclaimed and signed in 1946 by 61 States, including France. This definition encompasses both the individual and the collective, so it is indeed a subject that concerns all of us as citizens, elected representatives, carers and patients, in order to form a society. Our health is a common good, and no one can claim the right to impose anything whatsoever in this area, and above all unilaterally.

My name is Vincent Bonaldi. 45 years ago, almost to the day, I entered medical school for the first time. I studied for 15 years to become a specialist, did 3 years of postdoctoral work in Canada to become a doctor of science, then 3 more years of university work to obtain an accreditation to supervise research. I am not showing off my CV; I am simply saying that I have the historical depth, almost dinosaurian, to examine with you the evolution of medicine and health over almost half a century. With my 21 years of study, I have the academic depth and legitimacy to engage with you in a reasoned, healthy and frank examination of the COVID period. It is high time.

I love my profession, which is to welcome and care for all my patients, whoever they may be. I also love the values of my profession as a doctor. My legitimacy also comes from the fact that I abide by an ethical and moral contract in order to practise this profession. A contract governed by my code of ethics, which I signed before my council of the Medical Council. This code of ethics defined the rules of medical practice and the sacred framework of the consultation between patients and their doctor, a framework in which mutual respect and trust prevailed, at least until before 2020. I pay tribute to all my fellow doctors and to all healthcare workers, whatever their field, who have shown, like me, how attached they were to the values of their profession.

My venerable Father, aged 93, caught one of the latest Omicron sub-variants 3 weeks ago. He had received three injections of vaccine products, the last more than a year ago, and had categorically refused — that is his right — to have any more. His little cold lasted 5 days, he is very well, and we solemnly celebrated together his natural immunity, renewed free of charge, without a jab and certainly the most effective, since it was updated on one of the latest listed Omicron sub-variants. Something the vaccines do not do, as you know, since they are always behind the antigenic news by at least four mutations, SARS-CoV-2 mutating roughly every 2 and a half to 3 months. My elderly father nevertheless had to undergo an umpteenth scraping of the nose with a cotton bud, which made it possible to say “It’s COVID!”... Yes, so what? And it earned him the punishment of being isolated in his room for a week. Nasal tests and isolation are now useless; they are pure mistreatment, totally out of touch with reality, since SARS-CoV-2 no longer kills anyone through its own pathogenicity. That these measures are continued. Is this normal?

On 16 March 2020, as Louis-Marie rightly said, the President of the Republic declared in a solemn address, "We are at war". He made many others afterwards. The enemy, an unknown SARS-CoV 2, was dangerous at the time. Over the almost 3 years that have passed, this virus has mutated countless times to become something completely different from “COVID”: a banal rhinovirus. A recent article published in issue 214 of Antiviral Research in June 2023 counts at least 23 sub-sub-sub-variants of Omicron, and none of these mutants is considered a concern any more. This is today’s reality that I am reporting to you as a doctor: the enemy has therefore disappeared. Covid-19 is over, we are in 2023; I repeat, Covid is over. The goose of the Puizzer brand is cooked, the goose is cooked. That the president has still never spoken of peace, nor begun the immense task of repairing the damage to our moral, psychological and social health, to our living together, that his stubborn policy, deaf and blind to the evidence, had generated. Is this normal?

My venerable mother, aged 91, did not want to be vaccinated. She did so under duress in order to be able to keep seeing her husband, who is in an institution, just as millions of people in France had to force themselves to undergo injections they did not approve of deep down, for countless reasons of their own. Our body belongs to us; it must be repeated. Articles 35 and 36 of the code of ethics require clear and honest information and the free and informed consent of the patient for any therapeutic administration.

Yet no explanatory leaflet for the injected products, setting out the risks involved and how to report them, was ever given to the people subjected to compulsory injection. This extortion under duress of a false consent for products about which nothing was known, neither their real efficacy nor their risk, and for which we are still entitled today to question the real benefit/risk ratio. Is this normal?

The law of 5 August 2021 decreed compulsory vaccination for healthcare workers, with the exclusion of healthcare workers who legitimately questioned the nature of the products administered and the relevance of this obligation. Subsequently, two new vaccination obligations were imposed. I repeat, without the free and informed consent of patients and healthcare workers. Is this normal?

As soon as the Delta variant, the 4th recorded, reached the end of its life, it was acknowledged that the so-called vaccination protected neither oneself nor others, neither against contamination nor against the spread of the disease, so how could the protection of vulnerable people be ensured? That our government persisted in buying, and is still buying, and forced the injection of millions of doses despite this evident inefficacy compared with what one is entitled to expect from a real vaccine: Is this normal?

And at the same time, all the conventional medications usually administered in viral infections were banned, one still wonders why. A single, totally new type of treatment, imposed from above and by force by the State, to the exclusion of all others, something never seen before in France. Is this normal?

Any pharmaceutical product (?), a fortiori one under trial, carries short-, medium- and long-term risks. The medium- and long-term side effects are still totally unknown to us today. We fear them, and we are right to. For the short term, it has been proven that cerebral thrombophlebitis, especially in young women, and myocarditis, especially in very young men, followed the injections, some of which led to death. That it was other countries that raised the alarm about serious side effects, notably the Scandinavian countries, while France kept saying all is well, everyone vaccinated, everyone protected, "get injected, get injected". Is this normal?

Throughout this health crisis, half the world’s population nevertheless used conventional so-called inactivated-virus vaccine products, a type of vaccine that has existed since the beginning of the history of vaccination, roughly 50 years, and whose side effects are known to be rare. These products were validated by the WHO and, on 2 June 2020, by the Vaccine Strategy Steering Council in France; the choice of these products was never offered to us. The government continued to impose one and only one type of product, a gene-based one at that, and still under trial, as can never be repeated enough. Is this normal?

Article 14 of the code of medical ethics requires that doctors must not disclose in medical circles a new treatment that has been insufficiently tested — which was indeed the case — without accompanying their communication with the necessary reservations. That no media outlet ever relayed this application of the elementary precautionary principle that we kept reminding ourselves of. But that some of these “mainstream media” dared, on the contrary, to label with every obscene epithet those of us healthcare workers who were precisely expressing such reservations in accordance with ethics? Is this normal?

That these same media, with complete impunity, set themselves up, moreover, as judges of who was right and who was wrong, in defiance of the most elementary journalistic ethics. By the way, does journalistic ethics still exist in the mainstream media? Is this normal?

That the president of a strange Republic, I repeat, allowed himself on 4 January 2022, by way of New Year’s greetings, to insult these healthcare workers in turn by saying, I quote: “The unvaccinated, I really want to piss them off.. that is what we are going to do until the end.. that is the strategy”. Is that not singularly vulgar and worrying, and is this normal?

A comical minister, one of whose main occupations was spouting nonsense such as “the vaccine protects 100% from lockdown”. Or the worst fake news of the last 20 years: “Everyone vaccinated, everyone protected!”. So. This facetious man, alas set up as the person responsible for our health, claimed without any verifiable figures that suspended healthcare workers numbered no more than 400. The President of the Senate recently reported that it was in fact 3,000 to 5,000 people. We, a network of healthcare workers, who are on the ground, count between 60,000 and 80,000 healthcare workers in total who left their work during this COVID period. These figures are colossal in a democratic country: that thousands of healthcare workers were thrown out like dirt, without work or access to unemployment benefits— Maître Guyon may tell us about it — even though they are admirable in their resistance to retaliatory measures totally unprecedented since the 1940s, and above all faithful to their values. Is this normal?

In a country where citizens and local elected representatives constantly observe and warn about the spread of medical deserts, the deep shortage of healthcare workers in all fields of care, where a growing number of patients no longer have a GP, where emergency departments close every week for lack of staff? That the suspended healthcare workers are not fully and completely rehabilitated as a matter of extreme urgency so that they can still consider coming back to practise: Is this normal?

Among the healthcare workers who slammed the door, some will never come back. Too disgusted at having been so mistreated, humiliated and despised. Do you hear, you pseudo-journalists of the mainstream media, and you soulless enforcers of administrative rules: mistreat, humiliate and despise. We also note that a great many of the suspended are young, some already enrolled in courses leading to all the healthcare qualifications. That this coming secondary blast of the healthcare staff shortage has never been considered by those who govern us, although it is extremely worrying for the near future of our health system. Is this normal?

More than three quarters of my patients, whom I invite to talk and who now dare to speak freely, express themselves on this health period by saying we were well and truly had. That such a level of distrust has been reached towards a government that is supposed to protect us, while it worries us with its choices, frightens us with its decisions, mistreats us with totally unprecedented and often inappropriate measures. Is this normal?

Trust should be the primary parameter of any public health decision, so that citizens support the measures to be taken in the event of real danger. That was the conclusion of the AIDS years; that this government has ignored it and is indifferent to the deep wound to trust, extremely serious for the future of our health system and just as much for democracy. Is this normal?

Fortunately, on 4 May 2023, as has already been said, the National Assembly, in an unprecedented cross-party surge, booed Minister Brown, who had come to defend the instrument of the obligation. I was present and honoured my role. The Assembly honoured its role, which is to say no to the executive when it abuses its power; by voting to repeal this compulsory vaccination law, it gave people like me immense hope in democracy, in the expectation that you, Senators, will in turn vote for this repeal in the same terms. In the meantime, let things be very clear: on 14 May 2023, in an extremely perverse way, the government issued a decree suspending compulsory vaccination for healthcare workers, muddying the information, always well relayed by the mainstream media, and trying to make people believe that the suspension of healthcare workers had been definitively resolved, whereas this is not the case at all. Suspending a suspension clearly means that it can be reactivated at any time, at the government’s good or bad will. That despite everything, and still today, this sword of Damocles of a new exclusion still hangs threateningly over our heads. Is this normal?

I had prepared 45 pages of “Is this normal?” and a 1-hour talk; rest assured, I have shortened it. At the start of this speech, I paid tribute to the suspended healthcare workers and to my patients. Now I also want to pay tribute to all those — healthcare workers on my side and officials on yours — who believed what they were told at the beginning, the official line so well hammered home, and who now dare to stop and ask questions. Tribute to all those who now also wish to speak freely in order finally to find a society at peace again. It is extremely difficult to look differently at what we were made to believe for so long and so effectively. But if more and more of us dare to ask these questions, then our society is taking on board Mark Twain’s fine phrase: “Whenever you find yourself thinking like everyone else, pause and reflect.”

Common sense is on the march; individual common sense will certainly nourish collective common sense, and collective common sense will prevail over all passive conformism and above all over all the liars. That is fine, good public health. I live in Haute-Savoie (tribute to my senator, Madame Sylviane Noël). I wake up every morning facing the Plateau des Glières. It both inspires me and obliges me to keep this trust, whatever it costs. If you answered my list of “Is this normal?” questions with a majority of noes (it is a bit like psychology tests), then I invite you, dear Senators, to go to the end of these questions about our health that you have asked yourselves without ever daring to voice them. Starting, please, by circulating our discussions of this evening in extenso to all your colleagues in the Senate who could not be present for this exchange. Then by proposing and voting for the repeal of the law of 5 August 2021, which still today carries the vaccination obligation, in the same terms as those of the National Assembly. How much you would restore the trust of all citizens and above all of all the suspended healthcare workers, some of whom have been suspended for more than 2 years. Long live France’s democracy; thank you for your attention.
