BAM! is an alternative news outlet: pluralist, optimistic, rigorous, irreverent and, above all, independent.

Who we are

Formed in late 2020 from a single observation — that the media too often spoke with one voice — BAM! is a collective of citizens from all walks of life: journalists, activists, entrepreneurs, shopkeepers, artists… determined to defend, now more than ever, freedom of opinion.

What drives us

To address today's crises without taboos, along with the scientific, democratic, economic, psychological, philosophical, environmental and cultural questions they raise; to give a voice to those who are rarely heard; and to put forward ways out.

Faced with media that play their critical role less and less, we want to revive debate and offer rigorous, illuminating and unbiased information that lets everyone form their own opinion.

Independent and run by volunteers

For over five years, this small paper has been carried by a team of volunteers who devote themselves to it alongside their day jobs. It works collegially, bringing together strong and varied personalities with diverse opinions that sometimes clash on certain issues: everyone makes their case, and decisions are then taken by majority.

With no public funding, BAM! survives thanks to donations, large and small, from citizens who wish to remain anonymous — which allows us to safeguard our editorial freedom in all circumstances.
