The EU sanctions Jacques Baud: an openly embraced authoritarian drift

This Monday, 15 December, Jacques Baud will be sanctioned by the EU. This former Swiss intelligence colonel and independent analyst, whom we have had the honour of interviewing several times, will have his assets frozen and will be banned from entering the EU. His crime? Having publicly expressed analyses deemed “pro-Russian” by Brussels. No collusion. No Russian funding. No proven disinformation. Just analyses that strike a false note in an official discourse sung in unison.
The Euroclear affair in Belgium has brought it out into the open: from the Belgian parliament applauding unanimously to social networks flooded with support, an overwhelming majority of citizens do not follow, or no longer follow, the ravings of the warmongers. The EU knows it. And it is panicking.
By sanctioning Jacques Baud, the EU crosses yet another line. After the DSA[1][2] and Chat Control[3], it confirms what some still refuse to see: its openly embraced authoritarian turn.
The EU’s objective is clear: to make an example of Jacques Baud in order to muzzle dissent.

L’instant BAUD - #1 Les origines

What are the origins of the Russia‑Ukraine conflict? Why do the media not address these origins? Can the war spread to the rest of Europe? Is this conflict legitimate? Legal?

All these questions will be addressed with Jacques Baud in this first episode of a series of 5 interviews on this conflict.

Jacques Baud #2 L’escalade

Is there a risk of the war spreading in Europe? Does Putin have a strategy?

Jacques Baud #3 Crimes de guerre

In this conflict, war crimes seem to be on one side only, if our media are to be believed. The courts will have to decide.

Jacques Baud #4 L’histoire en question

How did we get here in Europe? Is hatred of Russia not making us lose our minds?

Jacques Baud - #5 L’affaire Nord Stream
